top - Aritzia    jacket and scarf - H & M    jeans - Sirens   boots - Spring    hat - Lost    purse - gifted

I hope you all had a good Remembrance/Veteran's Day today and I hope you were all able to take some time out of your day to honor and reflect upon our country's fallen soldiers and the men and women who are still fighting in Afghanistan today. Unfortunately I sometimes take my freedom for granted, do you? But fortunately I don't know anything different, I've lived in a free country my whole life which makes me extremely lucky and I tend to forget that.

Anyways, this is what I wore this afternoon when I met up with a friend of mine to see the movie "Morning Glory" with Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford and one of my favorite actresses, Diane Keaton. Too bad the movie sucked. Ok, it didn't suck but I got so tired of watching Harrison Ford play such a cranky, one-dimensional, selfish asshole throughout the whole damn movie I wanted to walk out. Basically he played himself throughout the whole film. Did anyone see him on Letterman or Leno (I can't remember which one!) a few years ago when he acted like a disinterested, egotistical prick? That's what he was like in "Morning Glory." Not my cup of tea. So I'll go back to talking about my outfit ; ).

Here's a close-up of the boots I'm wearing. I used a gift card I received on my birthday last month to buy these suckers that caught my eye at Spring last week. It was love at first sight. They are surprisingly comfortable! When I told D. this he looked at me sideways with his eyebrows raised and said he didn't believe me but they really are super, super comfy. And they have good grips on the bottom which will be very useful in Winter when I'm literally walking on ice - they'll prevent me from falling flat on my face! Speaking of Winter, ughhhhh it's just around the corner. I've had to scrape frost off my windows of my car every day this week! Grrrrrr.

Well I hope you all have a great weekend! Annnnd if you haven't entered my AWESOME (that's A-W-E-S-O-M-E) Urban Decay/MAC/OPI/Sephora Giveaway you can enter it here!

I LOVE your boots!!!
And yea, I really need to try to think about what freedom means to people who don't have it more often. Our soliders do so much for us, it's amazing!

Marie-thank you for the tribute to the soldiers in the past the present and the future. I wore my poppy proudly for the last week :) I feel very grateful to be living in this country.

You're looking awesome here, my dear. The boots caught my eye right away - swoon!

Even though the movie sucked I'm happy I heard it from you before seeing it. Harrison does need to lighten up. I mean it's not like he's short on food or anything - Calista's clearly not had more than a grape for daily sustenance in YEARS.

Carrie

Those boots are so cool! From the front they look very military (eg tough) but then the heels make them super sexy! Oh and I take my freedom for granted, too...

I find you're really hitting your stride with your style in the last few outfit posts. You've always had amazing style, but these last few outfits are just that much better. You definitley cultivated your own signature style ... love it.

You rock the cold weather looks, Marie! I am not surprised about Harrison Ford, he only ever plays one character. I would think as a talented actress that would drive you crazy! XX!
