Ripped

Funny (or not-so-funny) story: right after these photos were taken it started SNOWING. It's MAY. May!! Ah, the joys of living in Canada. And this is why I'm getting married in California ; ). Anyways, I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of ripped boyfriend jeans, you know, the kind your mom would not approve of because they have holes in them? Well I finally found some online at Shopbop! During the spring and summer I live in boyfriend jeans because they're comfortable so I was happy to add another pair to my closet. Sorry, Mom.

Anniversary

jacket - c/o Zara, t-shirt - Soprano via Nordstrom Rack, jeans - J Brand via Nordstrom Rack,
bag - Marc by Marc Jacobs, shoes - bought from Ordinary People at our Blogger Sale, necklace - H & M

Happy Monday! I wore this to dinner for mine and D,'s 7 year anniversary. Obviously we did not go to a fancy restaurant ; ). We are not "fancy restaurant" kind of people! Later we stayed at a hotel downtown, we had a little "staycation" which was nice. I hope you all had a nice weekend, too!

High Heels

Guys, I have a confession to make. I have a love/hate relationship with high heels. I love how they can instantly make you feel and look sexy. I love how they make my legs look longer and leaner. I love the confidence I get while wearing them and I love that there are so many gorgeous pairs to choose from. But the truth is, I can't walk in them. Well, technically I can but I look like a newborn giraffe when I do. I'm not sure if it's all the years of dancing that has taken a toll on my feet or what but when I wear a really high heel it's just not good, for me or anyone else in my path. I was always in awe of Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City because she wore heels all the time! And would happily walk 20-plus blocks in a gorgeous pair of Manolo Blahniks on the streets of New York. Do women really do this? Can some of you wear heels all day long without complaining? I could never. When high heels make my feet hurt I get cranky. Harrison Ford-cranky. I remember when I was on holidays in Vegas one time and we were going out to see a show, I wanted to wear these beautiful, brown (high-heeled of course) sandals I had just bought a few hours before to go with my gorgeous new maxi dress. We were staying at The Flamingo and had to walk to Planet Hollywood, which was maybe a 15 minute walk. Well I had to stop at H & M on the way to buy and change into flats! My feet and back were so sore! I just couldn't do it. Where am I going with this? Oh yes. So, I've had my eyes on sandals like these for ages:

This style was popular last year, too. These ones are from Zara and every fashion blogger (and their dog) seems to be wearing them and I can see why. They're very sexy and sleek! And look at these Jimmy Choos:

Gorgeous, right? But waaay out of my price range. Plus, I'd die trying to walk in them, obviously. So I ended up getting these ones instead:

Not as sexy but still cute. This pair came in the mail from Zara the other day. I'm confident Ill be able to wear them for at least a half hour without cursing Jesus. I'll let you know how I do in them. Hopefully this won't be me:

This video actually makes me nauseous when I watch it.

Have a great day! And hey, do you like wearing heels??

This Ain't Coachella

jacket + ring - H & M, shirt - c/o Zara, jeans - Hudson, bag - Marc by Marc Jacobs,
sneaker wedges - Aldo, scarf - Bamboo Ballroom, bracelet - Banana Republic

If I was at Coachella I'd be wearing shorts and sandals without the coat but since I live in reality, (at least I think I do but my boyfriend may disagree) and Spring really hasn't sprung yet where I live, I'm stuck covering up my limbs so they don't freeze and break off. But speaking of Coachella, I'm kind of Coachella-d out. To be honest with you, I'm a little sick of seeing all the outfits the uber-cool people and/or celebrities are wearing to the oh-so-popular music festival because most of them are waaaay over the top (ahem, Paris Hilton) and they end up looking like assholes. (Paris Hilton.) And isn't it funny, how Coachella is more about the fashion rather than the music (to some people)? Honestly I can only mention a couple of bands that I knew were performing but I do know what Kate Bosworth wore to a couple of concerts! (Top Shop.) Anyways, maybe I'm just jealous and cranky that I'm not there and instead I'm stuck in zero degree weather wearing mittens while I drive to work in the morning? You can decide ; ).

The Biker Jacket

jacket  - c/o Zara, jeans - Hudson, purse - Rebecca Minkoff, boots - Spring,
scarf - H & M, sunglasses - Jessica Simpson

This is the jacket I got from Zara Canada online, also seen here. It's kind of military-chic-meets-biker chick, don't you think? Speaking of bikers, D. announced that he's getting a motorcycle in the near future which I'm not really happy about, to be honest. (Boys and their toys!) It's because I don't have a great track record with motorcycles. They're dangerous!! I actually fell off of a little dirt bike, landed on the road and broke my arm driving one when I was thirteen. I literally had to be peeled off the road and taken to the hospital. It was my fault, I was distracted by cute boys and I was driving it around the bend near our cabin and almost ran into a tree, instead of putting on the brake I put the gas on - all the way- and then the brake right after. I literally flew off. I ended up in a sling for 9 weeks! NINE WEEKS! It was torture. Hopefully D. will be much safer than I was. And if I have enough guts to get on his motorcycle with him, I'll be wearing this jacket, a helmet and a body pad ; ).

Have a great week, guys!

Zara: Big News for Canadians & What I Got

I am so excited to bring you this post! Today's the day! Zara Canada's online store has officially launched! It might seem like I'm high from caffeine but I'm not! Because I don't drink coffee! I'm just really, really stoked because Zara is one of my favorite stores! Canadian customers can now shop the hottest fashion trends from the comfort of their couch, which is exactly what I did this past weekend ; ). Here's what I ended up getting:

Shipping was free because my order was over $50.00 and it arrived within two business days. Not bad at all. Happy Shopping, Canada!
