Bamboo Ballroom Blogger Night

blazer - Anne Klein (clothing swap), trousers - Cassis, t-shirt - Aeropostale,
scarf - Spring, shoes - Target, bag - Army & Navy, ring - H & M

Hey guys! I hope you're all having a good week. This is what I wore to a blogger event Wednesday night. The blazer I'm wearing is the same one I wore here, which I picked up at Over the Top Swap a couple of months ago. It's definitely one of my favorite pieces in my closet. My shoes are new, I got them from Target (of course!) on my vacation. I thought they were a great dupe for the Steve Madden and Brian Atwood versions I couldn't afford! It was my first time wearing them and my feet hurt so badly at the end of the night, I seriously thought I'd have to crawl to my car. I was thisclose to taking them off and walking barefoot down the street, risking contracting hepatitis. Even my eye balls hurt from wearing them. But anyways, enough complaining. On to the event!

Bamboo Ballroom, located on trendy Whyte Avenue in Edmonton is one of my favorite stores. If you live in the Edmonton area or if you ever come to visit you must check it out! And bring me with you! They carry amazing brands like Free People, Mink Pink, BB Dakota, Alternative Apparel, J Brand, William Rast (the list goes on) as well as local designer clothing from Suka and Cruz. And their jewelry and hair accessories are so unique. You can imagine how excited I was to attend their first ever Blogger Night.

Of course there was a ton of shopping involved! When you gather a bunch of fashion bloggers together in one store with gorgeous clothing and throw in some sweet discounts all hell breaks loose. In the best possible way. No one left empty handed! I picked up a couple of tops I'll be wearing in upcoming outfit posts so stay tuned for that!

The lovely Suki from Ponytails + Horseshoes was on hand to give the guests summer hair trend demos. "No more flat irons this season!" Suki says, "This summer it's all about waves and curls."

Here I am with the beautiful makeup artist Nicola Gavins, who applied a creamy pinky-nude lipstick on me and added some Becca shimmering skin perfector in Opal to give my cheeks a bit of shimmer.

Designer Alisha Schick and Bamboo Ballroom owners Kyla Kazeil and Stacey Boruk. (They spoiled us.) Accomplished Edmonton photographer Ashley Champagne (she shot Lady Gaga!) from Georgie magazine was also on hand but unfortunately I didn't get any photo's of her because she was too busy taking photos of us ; ).

Janis, Andrew and I at the end of an extremely fun night!

If you're a local blogger who missed out on this night don't worry, Kyla tells me another meet up is already in the works! Leave me your email address in the comment section below and I'll be sure to pass it on to her.

Have a great weekend!

SiSi: Thank you! Yay, you'll have so much fun! A couple of tips: bring a camera (of course) and business cards to hand out to fellow bloggers. And a notebook and pen to write in. Have a great time!

Okay you look GORGEOUS!

I can't believe you got those freaking shoes at Target. I am taking my a** over there in the AM to see if there are any left. Ho-lee cow.

And it is so weird to see Whyte Ave out the window and just feel like I could get in the car and go over there. I'm gonna have to visit Bamboo Ballroom the next time I go home. It looks fab!

You looked so pretty!! This is so soft & feminine, I love the neutral color palette! Beautiful! Bummer about the shoes though - I have such a low tolerance for painful shoes, I'm such a wimp! They looked great though!

aaaaahhh the color palette is so pretty and serene, LOVE IT! Love how you added some subtle prints from the scarf :)

The pumps look super pretty, but I can understand why you said they're painful. They're so high (even with the platforms)! And the stiletto heels? You're one brave woman! Hats off! :D
