Thanksgiving

boots - c/o Converse, faux leather jacket - Winners, sweater - Jacob, jeans - F21, beanie - LOST, jewelry + scarf- H & M

I'm loving my new black Chuck Taylor Leather All Star Light Multi-strap booties from Converse. They're perfect for fall - comfortable and practical but still stylish and slick. I've been pairing them with leggings or skinny jeans and I have to say I enjoy wearing flats much more than I do heels! My feet actually thank me for tossing my 3" stiletto's to the back of my closet every now and then. Is there anyone out there who's the opposite and loves wearing heels instead of flats?? Let me know!

So this past weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving and on Saturday we took a road trip out to my Aunt and Uncle's beautiful cabin at the lake for a relaxing afternoon and a yummy holiday dinner where I stuffed myself silly. (Sans turkey for me because I'm a Vegetarian, which means I had more room left for dessert!) Here are some photos from that day:

My parents have a buffalo farm about 50 minutes outside of the city so we stopped there on our way out. You can never get too close unless you want them to charge and trample, flattening you into a human pancake. My Dad actually had to run to and hide in a little shed once because the buffalo started chasing him! He stayed in there until he got a hold of his friend via his cellphone who had to come rescue him! Tee hee.
Beautiful beasts, aren't they? Remember how I said I was a Vegetarian? Yeah, so I've never eaten buffalo in my life, I just want to make that clear. These poor lads don't know their fate and it makes me sad : (. It's so bizarre to me that I come from a family of hunters and farmers! I would totally kidnap them and raise them in my backyard to protect them from my family if I could! I would sing them lullabies at night through my window.

The Lake. Too cold to swim in now but still beautiful to look at.

 My favorite clock.

The dessert I talked about earlier ; )

I hope you're all having a good week and I hope my fellow Canucks had a great Thanksgiving long weekend! Oh, and I have two, yes TWO giveaways going on right now if you're interested in winning free stuff:

Gorgeous photos, sounds like an absolutely wonderful time! Everything is so beautiful this time of year.
I love your outfit, the stripes and polka dots together are so cute. And those boots are fabulous, I can see why you're not wearing heels. I wish I could wear heels more often but campus makes it rough.

I love this whole outfit on you - you look so casual chic! And amen to wearing flats...I enjoy a good heel (well, wedges more) as much as the next gal but I also spend the majority of my time in flats because I walk everywhere and am usually on campus for 9 hours a day and heels just don't work for that.

oOooh I want to go live there :P And awww the poor Buffalo, I've never had one and I don't plan on it...but I do eat other meat. I hate that I eat cows and chickens and stuff...but if I didn't I would hardly eat any food because I'm so picky :(

+1 for vegetarians who opt out of turkey for thanksgiving! If only you lived closer, my dad makes the best veggie stuffing!!! Love your stripes and polka dot combo and those converses are super cool.
