I'm a Believer

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Have you heard of Moroccanoil? (Yes, it's all one word.) My hair stylist, who is also a close friend of mine, recommended it when I asked her what I could do to get the "oomph" back into my hair in between hair appointments since it was looking quite stringy and dull, lacking shine and strength. So I thought I'd give it a try. It's a "salon-only" product (but you can get it at Chatters Beauty Supply where I bought mine) so it was quite expensive at $47.00. The helpful and extremely knowledgeable sales person (is there such thing as a Hair Scientist because this girl was exactly that, I swear) picked out Moroccanoil Light Treatment for Blonde or Fine Hair for me. She explained that Moroccanoil is an Argan Oil blend that is rich in vitamins and natural elements that fortify the hair, improves its elasticity, moisturizes the strands and heals and relieves weak and brittle hair (in a nutshell). I put it to the test a couple of weeks ago after I got out of the shower. At first I thought it would be oily, and maybe even greasy but once I put it in my hair it was absorbed really quickly. I then blow dried my hair which, by the way, took less time than it usually does because Moroccanoil also reduces the drying time which means I can sleep in an extra five minutes ; ) and then straightened it. I was impressed at how shiny and healthy it looked and how soft it felt. The only downside to this product was that it smelled like a perfume a ninety year old Grandmother might wear, it was very strong and potent but the smell goes away once you dry your hair. I\ve been using it every time I get out of the shower now with the same great results. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it and you only have to use about the size of a quarter every time. You can learn more about Morroccanoil here. What hair products do you use before you blow dry your hair?

I've heard a lot about this oil. Hm I can just smell the old lady's perfume... bleh! I use oil on the ends of my hair, too, and serums from Kerastase... also a salon-only product but well worth the money, love all their stuff!

My hair stylist recommended this the last time I got my hair colored but I have been waiting to try until I heard from more people how it works. I really think I'll get some the next time I get my hair done!

I've been using Morroccanoil for a while now (I started with the smaller $15 bottle to see if I liked it before committing to buying the bigger one.) I have super fine hair that's always frizzy after drying.
While I didn't NOT like the results, I was BLOWN away by what it did to me hair (really didn't see much change?) I think that I probably need to use more of it (I was using a dime sized amount because I was always a little freaked out about putting oil in my hair!) I use it most days but I haven't been totally amazed by it.
What I DO really love is, Living Proof Full Thickening cream - $24 from Sephora only. Seriously life changing hair product!!! Thickens, adds body. I`m in love with it!

i use the mask they sell - the deep conditioner mask - i can't use the "oil" b/c my hair is too fine and thin that it'll just go *blah* if i do - oh you thick haired girls, u don't know how good u have it!!!

Okay you are speaking my language because I've been on the fence about trying this so many times.

I used primarily Bumble and Kerastase products with the occasional Aveda...but you have now convinced me to give this a try on my next go round.

ps - I'm so sorry about your heater in the car situation!!

Ooooh I have never heard of Morooccanoil but I too have blonde, fine hair that gets limp as soon as I dry it. Good to know it still works after using it for a while. I may just make the investment!

I have been meaning to try this for ages! Emily of Cupcakes & Cashmere swears by it, and I've heard others say good things about it too... I just haven't been able to justify shelling out the money as of yet! But I really should give it a try! Thanks for the info!

Very interested post!!!!I just follow you since now!!!!!
I do love Argan oil, well I just love natural cosmetics, my blog is just focused in this categorie of products. I know you can find cheaper argan products in the brands "Oro Fluido" and "Agadir", and they are very good products to regenerate your hair.
