You can check out the article by Sandy Joe Karpetz and see a photo of a dress I wore to my soon-to-be sister-in-law's wedding here. Above are some of my top dress picks, all from Shopbop. Personalizing Your Wedding Dress
I recently chatted with the Edmonton Journal about how to inject personal style into your bridal wear like Man Repeller Leandra Medine, Avril Lavigne and Ann Hathaway (above) and what brides MUST consider when choosing their wedding dress. You can check out the article here and see some beautiful photos of my friend and fellow blogger Vickie (who also wrote the article!) playing dress-up in some absolutely gorgeous gowns from Delica Bridal.
Have
a great weekend!

My cousin's cat gave birth to six adorable kittens a couple of days ago and I went over to see them yesterday! Aren't they the sweetest? This is kind of a gross story but my cousin and his girlfriend were sleeping in their bed and the Mama cat was in between them and all of a sudden my cousin wakes up and the Mom is giving birth in the bed. I guess she was comfortable enough right there to pop out her kids one by one ; ). It scarred my cousin for life however! Anyways, I just realized this post has a lot of pics of cats. I swear I'm not a crazy cat lady! I only have one cat. And I'm allergic to her so I couldn't have 10-plus cats even if I wanted to.

photo's by the admirable Harvey Miedreich

I'm so excited to be featured on Southgate Center's website today! Southgate is the mall I shop at frequently since it's in walking distance from my house and because they have a Zara, Sephora, MAC and Aldo. (Heaven!) But have I ever actually walked to the mall? Well, no. But that's because I usually need the space in my car to hold all the bags full of everything I purchase when I shop there ; ). Anyways, they asked me to write a little article on dressing for the workplace. To read the post and see more pics you can click here. I hope you like it! And if you want to, I'd love to hear what your dress code is at work and how you dress for the office, if you work in one. Just leave a comment below.
I hope you have a great weekend. Canadians: don't forget to enter my Jason Wu for Target Giveaway here. Winner will be announced soon!

Pink It Was Love at First Sight
blouse - vintage, Bamboo Ballroom jeans - MiH shoes - Target purse - H & M ring - Free People
This is my new vintage (isn't that an oxymoron? new/vintage?) polyester blouse I purchased at the Bamboo Ballroom Blogger Night last May. As soon as I laid eyes on it I knew it had to come home with me, much like most of the clothes in my closet! I paired it with my wide-legged, flared MiH jeans I got at Nordstrom Rack in the states. They have become my favorite pair of jeans. Of all-time. They're the perfect cut and length and make my legs look longer than they are. I highly recommend them!
Did you have a good weekend? The weather was crappy here for the most part so I spent a lot of time inside. Even when we did get a bit of sun, like when I was able to take these outfit pics, the mosquitoes were nasty, nasty, nasty. So I ran errands, went shopping, caught a movie ('Horrible Bosses' which was actually quite funny) and pampered myself with a much-needed pedicure. Pink toes ; ). Oh, and I ended my weekend watching 'Marley and Me' on T.V. which was a very bad idea. D. couldn't even watch it and I turned into a big, bawling, slobbering, snotty mess even though I had seen it before. When it was over I found Kitty and hugged her close and gave her a few kisses on top of her head. What can I say? I have a huge soft spot for animals. Like this little guy:
Okay he's not so little. Extremely large rabbits and hares are nothing new to our neighborhood, I spot at least three of them every day but this one has made a habit of settling comfortably into our grass (which really needs to be cut, I know!) every evening for the past month or so. Kitty watches him intently from her window perch. He doesn't let me get too close yet but hopefully that will change and I'll be able to pet him soon. Then he can move in with us! HA! D. would just love that I'm sure.
Before I go I wanted to thank Style Nine to Five for featuring me on their site. You can read about it here!

A Feature, a Book and a Magazine
Happy Friiiidaaaay! I wanted to share with you an interview I did with Smashion.com which is a "social fashion site that connects buyers and sellers with a passion for fashion." I was honored to be featured in their Smashion Lounge! You can click here to view my interview and check out their cool site.
I also wanted to let you know about an amazing book I read last week called "Rockettes, Rockstars & Rockbottom" by Keltie Colleen. Here is what's written on the back of the book:
"Caught between backstage and center stage, Keltie Colleen opens a window to her intriguing life of dance and rock n' roll. In between gigs, Keltie optimistically untangles complicated rockstar romances, while clinging to her own identity. Simultaneously tragic and hopeful, Keltie's story is an honest, powerful and ultimately uplifting guide to following your dreams and losing your heart."
My boyfriend and I went to Keltie's book reading and signing last Friday where I had the pleasure of meeting her. She's such a sweet, beautiful and down-to-earth girl who happens to be from the same hometown as me, in fact we probably competed against each other many times in local dance competitions! Well after she signed my book D. and I came home - he went down to his "man cave" to watch an action flick and I stayed upstairs reading "Rockettes, Rockstars & Rockbottom" in one sitting. I didn't get off the couch, not even when I had to pee I was that riveted. (And I have a small bladder.) I just couldn't put it down. When Keltie was 19 she took a bus to New York City with only $500.00 in her pocket, hoping to make it as a dancer in the Big City. Well she did (and then some) and every dream she had as a child came true, including becoming a Rockette. She also fell in love with three famous rockstars (at different times) and had her heart put through the wringer over and over again, picking up the pieces after each relationship failed while trying to hold on to her sense of self. While reading this book I found myself becoming very emotionally involved with her story: I cheered for her, I cried for her and I wanted to kick all of her (ex) boyfriends in the gonads for her. Trust me, after you read this book you'll want to, too! Her book is really good. And very inspiring. To learn more about Keltie and to order her book you can click here.

And how stunning does Carey Mulligan look on the cover of Elle UK's January 2011 cover? I die!
Speaking of cover girls, what do you think of Taylor Swift being the newest face of COVERGIRL Cosmetics? I love Taylor, she's an excellent role model for young girls, beautiful inside and out and can do no wrong in my books. Plus she's dating Jake Gyllenmajigger! Don't they make the cutest couple?
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

The Edmonton Journal Feature

This weekend I was thrilled to be featured in The Edmonton Journal's Style section alongside some other fabulous local fashion bloggers. To check it out (and be able to read it) you can click here and scroll to the bottom. My picture was included in the paper - that's me on the right in that teeny tiny pic above - but not online for some reason.
Anyways, I hope you're all having a good week! It snowed on Monday and on that same day I caught a nasty cold so the past couple of nights I've been lounging around on the couch wrapped in a blanket sipping copious amounts of orange passion fruit tea and watching the third season of 'Californication' with D. Anyone have any good remedies to help ease a sore throat? And where's the best place to buy a Snuggie?

The Week in Review & My First Feature!
Happy Friday! This post is a cluster of things I wanted to talk about that don't really have anything in common with the other so I hope you don't mind me jumping from one topic to the next. I'm moving tomorrow and will be away from the blog world for a few days so I wanted to stuff in as much as possible into one post! Speaking of moving --which is a big pain in the arse but luckily I have lots of help-- above is a pic of my cat Prints Whiskerson Sultenfuss The First (but we call her "Kitty") hanging out in a box full of coffee cups I had started packing up. She looks SO impressed ; )
1. So first I want to thank Janis from Dress Me Dearly who featured me on her lovely blog yesterday. You can read my interview here. It's my very first feature so I'm stoked!
2. Surfing the net this week I fell in love with these shoes from Chloe. I can't afford them but a girl can dream can't she? These Sam Edelman Falken boots below are a little bit closer to my price range.
Like I said, I'm in love. With the shoes. Not the guy below.
3. Can you guess who this is? Don't scroll down yet! Try and guess! He's one of my favorite comedic actors on the set of his new movie 'My Idiot Brother.' Hint: I've mentioned before on this blog that he loves "slappin' da base!" I came across this photo on People.com and couldn't believe it was......are you ready?........
Paul Rudd from 'Dinner With Schmucks' and 'I love You, Man!' I will watch anything he's in so I can't wait for his latest film to come out. The quirky Zooey Deschanel is co-starring ; )
4. I finally tried Covergirl's Lashblast mascara and I think Drew Barrymore is on to something because I love it. It's the best one I've come across and I've tried MAC, Lancome, Maybelline, L'Oreal, Josie Maran, and other Covergirl mascaras but this one is the best by far. It really lengthens and volumizes my lashes. And it's only about $8.00!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Enjoy these last weeks of summer! Ugh I don't want to think about summer ending but I have to face reality : ( I'll be back next week with an outfit post. As long as I can find my clothes in the hundreds of boxes I've packed! ; )
