Mom's Day

cardigan - American Apparel, cargo pants - Vigoss, t-shrit - Aeropostale,
 shoes - Spring, belt - hand-me-down, jewelry and sunglasses - H & M
photos by my lovely (and patient!) cousin Camilla

Considering I wear this American Apparel cardigan ALL the time, I'm surprised I don't have many more outfit posts of me in it! It's so comfortable and wraps around me like a great big hug. How was your Mother's Day yesterday? My mom is in Arizona right now, vacationing with my Dad and some friends (lucky her!) so unfortunately I didn't get to spend time with her on Sunday but I did have dinner with someone very special last night.

This is my 86 year-old Grandma, my Babcia in Polish. Not even a year ago she was very ill and in the hospital. I remember leaving work last June, rushing there after I was told a priest would be visiting her to give her her last rites. I remember the priest telling her that it wasn't her time yet, she still had a lot of life left in her and he was right. With all her strength and determination she pulled through, made it out of the hospital and is now at home. My Grandma still has lots of ailments to deal with but she's still here, chugging along and enjoying her family, including her brand new great grandson. I treasure these special days with her and am so thankful she's still with us. She's such an amazing woman and a wonderful Grandmother. I don't take any time with her for granted.

I hope you were able to celebrate your Mom yesterday. Or, if your Mom has passed, I hope you honored her in a special way.

What a perfect photo of you and your grandmother - it's so nice that you spent some time with her yesterday.

On another note, I am in love with you cargo pants and cardigan - this is the perfect sophisticated casual look (and that can be a tricky thing to pull off).

Ooh that sweater looks so comfy!!! :D
And wow, I am so glad your grandmother made it, it's so hard to lose a grandparent. I lost one of my grandmothers 0 years ago and I still think about her all the time.
I spent Mother's Day with my mommy and other grandma, so it was good :D

You're so lucky to have your grandma. Mine was Ukrainian and we called her Baba. This sure hits close to home (no pun intended). You guys look so wonderful together. Much love! xo

and I can't leave without saying I am in love with that sweater. I have stalked it at my local AA all winter and now I know I will stalk it a little longer. It's perfect.

Aw, how wonderful that you got to spend Mother's Day with your grandma - she sounds like a very special lady :) I have only one grandparent left, my 89-year-old grandad, and living far from home, spending time with him, considering we never really know how much more of it there might be, is the thing I miss most.

Love that cardigan - the length is just incredible!
