Edible Fashion
source: tedsabarese.com
Before Lady Gaga's infamous (and absolutely disgusting) red meat dress at this year's VMA's, there was a little project in early 2009 called "Hunger Pains," shot by talented photographer Ted Sabarese where 15 designers were challenged to make clothing out of food that each model was craving that day. (Eat that, Gaga!) My favorite is the artichoke dress in the first pic. Apparently it took the designers six hours to attach each leaf! Talk about "hunger pains." I wonder if the models were allowed to eat themselves out of their wardrobe? If I was one of them I'd be covered in popcorn, BBQ Frito Hoops and Twizzlers ;). What about you?
I hope you're all having a great week! It snowed yesterday. Yeah, I'm not too happy about that. I swear in a past life I lived in California or Hawaii because these cold Canadian Winters don't suit me at ALL. Thank the heavens for car starters : ).

WOW! That looks like alot of fun too :] although I might be tempted to eat it throughout the session...
Anyway,
I've given you a blog award, come check it out :]
Oh. wow. lol That is really creative and different. Interesting and yummy!!
This is interesting...I would never have the patience to put these together! My favorite is also the artichoke dress...I also like the bread dress, especially the "sleeves"!
It snowed here too. I agree. I don't know why I STILL live here...I HATE winter with a passion.
Waffle pants is a brilliant idea!! If they actually made them, I'd buy it for sure haha. If I had to wear edible clothing... it'd definitely be made out of danish, croissants, and chocolate♥ I could never wear it outside though, I won't be able to stop myself from eating it all haha

Interesting! There is something oddly interesting about the first picture.
haha, those are so cool.
I know, I HATED Gaga's dress, I thought it was the grosses thing I'd ever laid eyes on. At least these ones are a bit more pleasing to the eyes.
Is it snowing still in Edmonton?
We've been hit really bad by it here, roads are so bad and it's cold. We both must have been California girls.
That's insane! A cool idea but not wearable haha. :)
Oh my gosh!!!! ha ha ha I love it! I would love to wear chocolate and sweets. Then I could snack all day on the things I crave most.

I would wear a dress of sushi and a fruit hat, because those are what I am craving right now!
These are so cool! I love them.
I love the girl covered in bread! I would want to be covered in bread too! or crackers and cheese ... fried things are my guilty pleasure, but then i'd be greasy all over :-/ Oh well, cool pics!
haha oh wow, these are incredible! if only people wore these in everyday life. nice!
no way! how cool is that!
And I concure with you about not being made for cold Canadian winters...one of the reasons for escaping to Europe! But I do miss my country!

Honey if you develop an allergy to snow mold and can no longer be outside in snow (happened to me) consider your past life confirmed!!
Now about those waffle pants...yum!!
I'd be laced with tortilla chips, chocolate chip cookies and raspberries!
xo,

What's funny is that most people probably don't know what a "car starters" is!!!!.... really when you think about it, it's only useful for people that live in God-awful cold places like here!
Carrie: Allergic to snow mold??? Crazy!
Nikosmommy: You're so right! I didn't even think of that!
I love that bread dress. These are fantastic!! :)SarahD
Hahaha, the waffle pants crack me up!
