The Problem With Wool

So I've had a black wool winter coat (seen here) for a few years now and although it's nice and all, I don't like that it attracts hair of all kinds - my hair, my cat's hair, my friend's hair if they hug me while I'm wearing it, etc. - you get my drift. I got tired of constantly using a lint brush on it and the buttons were starting to fall off so I decided it was time for a new one ; ). I had had my eye on this fitted down Mackage jacket for a very long time, I like that it's dressier but could be worn casually as well. And it's NOT WOOL! And it's WARM! And it has a HOOD! Triple score! So I bit the bullet and ordered it and I'm happy I did. Mackage is a Canadian brand and they just get us Canadians. We want to look STYLISH while we're freezing our arse's off and the designers at Mackage definitely understand this ; )

wearing: jacket -  Mackage via Shopbop (sold out but similar jackets here),
sweater - c/o French Connection, jeans - Joe Fresh, scarf - Simons, bag - Christopher Kon via Winners,
boots - Steve Madden, ring - Material Girl via The Bay (similar ones here)

Stylist's Tip: If you don't want to wear a huge, bulky parka to stay warm during the cold Canadian winter there are tailored, fitted jackets out there made with down to keep cozy! I love Mackage and the Mooseknuckles brand. Now I know these brands are expensive however if you live in Alberta or anywhere else where the temperature drops below -30 degrees the investment will be worth it. You'll get a ton of wear out of it from year to year and you won't have to buy another winter jacket for a reeeally long time!

The hood on that baby is majestic....having a really good winter coat (or 3) is pretty essential isn't it?

Your new jacket looks so cozy! This cold/warm weather is a little hard to adjust to though, isn't it?
