Celebrities in Sweat Pants. And Uggs.

Diane Kruger, Emma Watson

Mila Kunis with Ashton Kutcher

Drew Barrymore, Hilary Duff

 Amanda Seyfried

Katie Holmes

Kate Hudson

Alessandra Ambrosia

I decided to create this post after I wore sweatpants tucked into my Uggs to go to the gym last week and felt terribly guilty about going out in public looking like a slob. (And before you knock the Uggs, let me say that when you live in a climate where the temperature can drop to -37 degrees, you need a warm pair of boots! Even if they're Uggly, they're functional!) When I'm dressed like this (which only happens once or twice a year, believe me!) I hope and pray I don't run into a reader of this blog - or worse - a styling client of mine because they'd probably look at me and think I was a slob and a fashion fraud and wonder why they even hired me! But I felt better about my lazy fashion choice when I found these photos of celebrities dressed exactly how I was dressed (and maybe worse!), even a style icon like Diane Kruger who is always featured on numerous best-dressed lists at awards shows. See, the thing is, sometimes we just want to dress comfortably. Sometimes we're lazy. Sometimes we can't be bothered to put on a full face of makeup and a cute little outfit and heels to pick up some milk at the grocery store or go to the gym. And that's okay. Once in awhile. Just don't get caught by a photographer! ; )

Hahaha, love this. But I have to say - Sorels top uggs for me, because they are waterproof, good to -40 and don't get ruined by salt! My go-to winter boot, for sure. Although admittedly, I have worn them with lounge pants tucked in - I don't own sweatpants but lululemon yoga pants count the same way.

Major respect to Diane Kruger though for going with Roots! Of all sweatpants to wear, they're the best!

I totally know what you mean, when i go to the gym and its cold out I wear sweatpants, I don't own uggs but I feel equally as gross in my getup. But that is the only time I'd be caught in them.
It's crazy to see all these celebs looking like they just rolled out of bed!!

*guilty* - Sundays are usually my fug days -- plus with my recent weight gain (meds) i have a VERY small selection of clothes to wear - PS - u do know some of those sweatpants u featured are like $300! .. sweats aren't cheap these days :o(

I hate Uggs. I think they're ugly and it grosses my shit out when I know that people *actually* wear them barefooted. I.e. no protective sock barrier between the sweat-producing foot and innocent fleece. I also think it's ridiculous when I see people in southern California wearing Uggs. It's NEVER cold enough in LA to warrant those leather space-boots.

I have to admit to dressing like this more than once or twice per year, but I try to keep it to a minimum. I am a fellow Edmontonian, so I can relate to the pain of the cold!

Love the post! I am guilty of this from time to time as well, but sometimes you just need to embrace the sweatpants and Uggs!

Funny post Marie! Yup on Sundays I can often be found in sweats paired with awful footware...and I am totally cool with that!

funny post Marie but sometimes comfort needs to win over style!!! And I loved seeing the photos! But still not a UGG fan although sweatpants are cool ;)

Dude. I wore this to the grocery store yesterday and, in fact, have it on right now.

I will also be wearing it out of the house later.

pride is dead.

I look like this usual once a week. No harm done.
