Oscars Fashion 2016: The Good and the Not Good At All

One of my favorite parts of awards season is the red carpet fashion (whether it be good or bad) and last night at the Oscars I was not disappointed. There were some very well-dressed celebs and there were some doozies, as you'll see ; ). I'm starting off with my absolute faves from last night's ceremony: Rachel McAdams was a dream in an evergreen August Getty Atelier gown, Cate Blanchett looked stunning in a floral Armani Prive dress and Charlize Theron looked sleek in a simple (yet beautiful) bright red Dior number.
Glowing and pregnant Chrissy Teigen showed off her growing baby bump in a delicate red lace Marchesa gown, Eddie Redmayne looked dapper in a black Alexander McQueen tuxedo (can't forget the men, and that jacket is VELVET!) and Jennifer Garner went classic in a dramatic black Versace dress.

And now on to the not-so-great fashion from last night: Heidi Klum's overwhelming Marchesa dress reminded me of something a bridesmaid would wear, Kerry Washington (in Versace) looked a little too Dominatrix for me (how SCANDALous, get it? bah ha ha) and Isla Fisher (also in Marchesa) didn't really shine in this dress, I can't quite put my finger on what I didn't like about it, it just wasn't very interesting to me....

Amy Poehler's heavily patterned Andrew Gn dress wasn't appropriate for her petite frame, Kevin Hart's blingy Dolce & Gabbana suit brought back memories for me, of a costume I once wore for a tap dance solo choreographed to "We're in the Money" and Best Supporting Actress Winner Alicia Vikander's custom Louis Vuitton gown reminded me of something a Disney princess would wear, specifically Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I wasn't a fan of the draping at the bottom either.

Who were your favorite red carpet stars from last night's Academy Awards? Let me know in the comment section below and please feel free to disagree with my choices ; )

I agree on all counts! Although I would add Saoirse Ronan to the BEST BEST dressed, she was my favorite!
I liked Alicia's dress but it's not my style or color, maybe if it were darker. (I think she actually mentioned Belle in an interview so it may have been what she was going for, especially with the same hairstyle as Belle ;) )
(I think that one of Eddie is from last year, he wore a black velvet jacket this year - which I LOOOVED)
