Malorie Urbanovitch F/W 2013

 Hair:  Mousy Brown's Salon
Makeup:  Nickol Walkemeyer
shoes: Gravity Pope

This past Wednesday night I was lucky enough to view local designer Malorie Urbanovitch's Fall/Winter 2013 Ready-to-Wear collection at Startup Edmonton downtown. This hot-ticket, sold-out fashion show was produced and executed perfectly by Mode Models. The gorgeous venue and cool atmosphere honestly made me feel like I was at an event in New York, watching the fashionable crowd mingling with industry professionals while sipping champagne and then "oooh-ing" and "ahh-ing" over Malorie's creations, which were nothing short of AMAZING! I adored this collection which was full of her signature colors - blacks, creams, dark blues, seafoam greens and burnt oranges. My favorite pieces were the beautiful, soft separates made of wool and unfortunately I was too busy drooling over them to get more than a couple of photos but I did get a snapshot of my favorite design which was the last pic, in white. So beautiful!

After winning the Mercedes-Benz Startup semi-finals in Edmonton and then competing in the finals in Toronto at World MasterCard Fashion Week last fall, Malorie's star continues to rise and I'm excited to see her brand expand and succeed internationally. Congratulations to Malorie and to the Mode team on a very successful show!

Here are some photos I took later in the evening:

Such a great night!

I was so hoping to make it to this but got hit with a pile of grading, a head cold from hell, and a work retreat to Red Deer. It was like the perfect crap storm. But it looks like you had a great time and the collection was amazing.

This is my first introduction to Malorie Urbanovitch and I have to say, I'm in love with her collection! The simple, minimalist lines and classic colours are gorgeous. It looks like the show had an amazing vibe, too - wish I could have been there to join the fun!
