Sephora's Gonna Be The Death of Me

Back in January, one of my New Year's resolutions was to stop buying so much makeup and clothes. Well, I failed miserably as you can tell by my make-shift vanity table full of makeup and other products, above. (I'd like to mention that my vanity is usually not this messy, on a good day it looks like this!) And our closet which is so stuffed with my clothing that I had to purchase a clothing rack that I put in our room, right by my side of the bed which this past Saturday was so heavy it fell over in the middle of the night and landed on me. I woke up and I was covered in clothes! It was a very rude awakening, pun intended. Now if that isn't a sign I should curb my spending I don't know what is.

Anyways, I tried to ignore the email I got from Sephora last week with the subject header "The Biggest V.I.B. (Very Important Beauty Insider) event of the year!" but I just couldn't. They were giving V.I.B.'s a 20 % discount on everything in store! Did you hear me?!?! TWENTY PERCENT OFF! So this V.I.B. went to the M-A-L-L last Thursday with a goal to purchase only one makeup product: Makeup Forever's HD Microfinish Powder I've been wanting to try for a looong time.

I did not walk out with just the MUFE powder. I decided to pick up a new eye cream, as I was running out and the skincare expert at Sephora recommended Algenist's Complete Eye Renewal Balm to help with my dark circles and fine lines. It was 20% off so how could I resist? I blame my purchase of the Urban Decay NAKED palette on the chick who was behind me in the forty-person (i'm not kidding!) line-up who had two palette's in her hand, which I had been trying to get my hands on in Canada for a year before giving up because they were always sold out. She told me I should "definitely get one, before they're all gone" so I did and told D. it was all her fault.

Here it is in all it's eyeshadow glory! Can't wait to try it.

Did any of you take advantage of Sephora's sale this past weekend? Have you tried any of these products?

I'm making a promise, right here on my blog that I will not purchase anymore makeup products until 2012. So help me God.

Hahaha!!! Love this post! It is just sooooo me! I've spend literally last 15 minutes looking for a one shoe in my closet and I couldn't find it (the left one was on the top and I foolishly thought the other one will be close). I have so much stuff it's unbelievable and I keep buying more! I went so crazy with nail polishes lately I oficially have a BAN! :)

And waking up covered in clothes - LOL! X

Good luck with the vow to stay away from makeup purchases...I actually do pretty well with not buying a lot of products, I wish I could say the same about accessories.

How fun! I would love to come over and play with all your great stuff....I have little makeup compared to you and I thought I had too much :) Just think of it as work expenditures...you are in the modeling industry after all!

I'm holding that resolution to you! Haha I wish I was more into makeup, I'm scared of it a bit to be perfectly honest, I'm not very good at the application. All of these new items look amazing though! Do a tutorial with one of them :). Hope you're well beautiful!

I'm actually kind of glad Ireland doesn't have a sephora, because I'd be broke!! I LOVE that store. Of course, you had to get that Naked palette. It's amazing! I want one, too!! :)SarahD

PS Thanks for your lovely compliment on my last post. :)

the "I woke up and was covered in clothes" literally made me laugh!
I think the naked palette was a good purchase tho! Try to go no makeup shopping (for yourself) until christmas!

I noticed the Sephora here in Calgary finally has the naked palettes too. It's about time they aren't all sold out! I think I may get one after all, still.

I can completely relate to your story about waking up under a pile of clothes... It hasn't literally happened to me, but I know the feeling. All of my clothes are quadruple hung! Still, it looks like you made out like a bandit at Sephora. That eye palette looks like it has a stunning selection of colours :)

I can't get over that eyeshadow palette! It's perfect!

I had the worst product buying addiction for the longest time but when I moved into a small apartment a few years back I realized I had to minimize! Mind you I have yet to minimize my closet :p

I wait for this event every year. This time around I just bought facial products as I have enough make up for a lifetime I am certain! I blame the awesome packaging so many of these brands have...... the naked palette looks awesome, sad I didn't jump on that!
