American Makeup Haul

I know I'm a little late in posting this because I bought these products in May but better late than never, right? In addition to buying too many a bunch of clothes and accessories on my vacation in Arizona last month, I took full advantage - that's FULL advantage as in my Visa card was sore when I got home from my trip - of the Canadian/U.S. exchange rate and bought some cosmetics as well because everything was cheaper there. How could i resist? ; )  Here's what I got:

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation in C2 - This is a staple in my makeup kit, a must-have. I've been using this since I was a teenager, after my cousin introduced it to me. I love how it's a powder and foundation in one. It gives great coverage, doesn't cake, covers all my imperfections and stays on longer than other powders I've tried in the past.

NARS Illuminator in Copacabana - this is my first time using a highlighter and I love it! I mix it in with my foundation or tinted moisturizer and it gives me a nice, healthy glow. I'm hooked.

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer w/Concealer Pencil in light - I haven't tried this yet but I've heard so many good things about it on other beauty blogs that I had to get it.

Lancome Paris Hypnose Volume Mascara in Brown - I had asked for black at the counter but they gave me brown by mistake and I can't return it : ( Oh well. This mascara is my favorite higher-end/department store mascara. I switch between using this and a drugstore brand (usually L'Oreal Voluminous) because it's quite expensive at $31 CDN. The other day someone asked me if I was wearing fake eyelashes and no one has EVER done that (unless I was wearing fake eyelashes) so it works well!

e.l.f. Angled Contour Brush - we don't have e.l.f. in Canada except some lone products that pop up here and there at Winners stores (Winners is like a T.J. Maxx) so I wanted to pick up a contour brush I didn't really need but wanted (story of my life!) and decided on e.l.f. because it was cheap and I've heard only good things about the brand. I haven't used it yet though...

Sonia Kashuk Full Volume Eyelashes with Glue - I bought these at Target (which we don't have yet in Canada) and can't wait to try them.

Cle de Peau Concealer in Ivory - okay, this concealer cost me $70.00! I have never in my life spent that much on one makeup product but celebrities love it and makeup artists swear by it and I need all the help I can get with my under-eye dark circles. I've been wanting to try this for a couple of years now. I'm trying to finish up my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer before I start using it. I'll let you know if it's worth the money!

Bumble and Bumble Defrizz - I wanted something to help smooth my fly-aways and frizzles after I straightened my hair in the morning so I picked this up at Sephora. This works perfectly and gives it a nice shine. I highly recommend it.

Wet 'N Wild Eye Shadow trio in Walking on Eggshells 380B - I bought two of these. They were $2.99 each at Walmart! I’m so impressed with Wet ‘n Wild eye shadows – they're highly pigmented and blend easily. With a primer, Wet 'N Wild eye shadow stays on all day and doesn't crease on me. And the colors are beautiful to boot ; ).

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know!

i rarley wear make-up .. my routine is moisterizer and that's it - but if i'm going out my go-to's are Bobby Brown for eyes, Chanel for cheeks, bare minerals for powder, and nars lipsticks

Wet n' Wild is one of my favorite cheap makeup brands! And I agree, the quality of their e/s is FANTASTIC!:D

I think Zellers is the official retailer for ELF products in Canada. I personally never buy them from Zellers, always buy them straight from the website (hefty shipping fee, though!) :(

Great haul. It drives me crazy that our dollar is either worth more or worth the same amount as the US dollar and yet Sephora Canada wants to charge us up to $40 more than in the US.
I will have to look into that Bumble & Bumble spray as my hair is a frizz monster.

Great haul! I adore the WnW eyeshadows too, their so ridiculously cheap!

I think you'll like the glamoflauge, a little goes a very long way. It's a lot like Kat von D's tattoo concealer product but so much cheaper (it's always sold out here too!)
I wasn't a big fan of sonia Kashuk's eyeshadows but her brushes are decent..you'll have to tell us how the falsies work out for u!

That's one awesome haul! To say I'm envious is an understatement! I've been curious about the NARS Copacobana highlighter but I have the Multiple stick in the same shade, so I can't justify the purchase! I wish I lived closer to the border!

great stuff. i really want a nars highlighter, but i am debating what the best color would be for me... decisions, decisions. love bumble de-frizz. i just went nuts on makeup, bought the best lip gloss ever, too faced in barely legal. it would look stellar on you. it's genius.

So incredibly annoying that books, magazines, and cosmetics no longer reflect the exchange rate! This looks like a pretty awesome haul though! Stocked up on some essentials.
