Nike Footstickers

 For Yoga
Combat Cardio
Dance
via

Leave it up to Nike to come up with a form of footwear that you can use for activities that don't require footwear like Yoga and Contemporary Dance. These are called footstickers and can give more grip, protection and support than just bare feet. This is fantastic if, like me, you sweat a lot in Yoga and it drips disgustingly down on your mat which then becomes a smooshy wet slip and slide for your feet but not so great if you're a dancer wanting to nail a triple pirouette on stage. When I was a dancer 99% of my turns were done on the ball of my foot (if I wasn't wearing pointe shoes) and if I slapped these footstickers on my tootsies I doubt I'd be able to master any type of turn in them. Not only that but I'd be afraid I'd twist my ankle if the grips are really as "grippy" as Nike claims they are. But hey, I'd be willing to try them! What about you?

  2. I danced too, and I actually feel like this is so awesome! I had 'ball shoes' that cover just the ball of your foot as did the rest of my dance team and we liked them but they were actually slippery!

I also see that the dance ones have a little circle near the big toe.. and I'm wondering if that is for spins?? I wonder if there is a difference in material.

  8. The first thing I thought of was "How on earth would dancers pirouette in these???" They're an interesting concept, but I'm just not sure how well they would work...

  9. These are cool. But how do they stay on your feet? Glue, adhesive? The pics look computer animated, so I wonder if they're really "real" yet or just a concept?

  11. Amazing idea, but freedom on sports with every part of our body could be fun.

Very Innovative, I need to try soon.

  13. i think these are super awesome. sometimes, when i went to the gym, i got really bothered by the shoes I was wearing, the laces etc. Plus some of them were quite heavy.
I think this is worth trying :P

  14. Those are so cool! I'd love them for balance beam in gymnastics (except for when I had to do a turn) but not for floor, that would be bad...haha....perhaps vault too... XD

  15. I think I'd definitely try them - aside from playing tennis all my workouts are yoga or dance based (what can I say, I hate wearing athletic shoes) and I definitely have the occasional foot slippage problems. Although if they are really grippy I'd also be a tad worried about twisting an ankle or something!

  18. These look kinda creepy, if you ask me, but I'd try them out. I do pilates sometimes and yeah, now that I think about it, I do get kinda sweaty and it can be hard to balance. I feel stupid for not knowing what "combat cardio" is. If it's cardio, it seems to me like you should be wearing shoes at all times. Maybe I'm just not with it anymore!

  19. hrm these would work so wonderfully for modern dance or yoga! although I'm a bit scared of the price to just "try these out" since Nike's usually pretty pricey...

  20. Zeng: I searched for a price online but couldn't find one. I think they're still in the development stage...

  21. I swore to never again buy a NIKE shoe at 15...this is not really a shoe because like you a sweat a lot during yoga and it gets so hard to stand still without slipping!

  23. Really? Im a little skeptical- would they not just fall off if you sweat?

  24. Little t: from the website I got this info from: "There are glues in development that are washable and make it a sustainable product, there is also an adhesive (based on the proteins of a blue mussel) which continues to adhere during sweating."
