This Ain't Coachella

jacket + ring - H & M, shirt - c/o Zara, jeans - Hudson, bag - Marc by Marc Jacobs,
sneaker wedges - Aldo, scarf - Bamboo Ballroom, bracelet - Banana Republic

If I was at Coachella I'd be wearing shorts and sandals without the coat but since I live in reality, (at least I think I do but my boyfriend may disagree) and Spring really hasn't sprung yet where I live, I'm stuck covering up my limbs so they don't freeze and break off. But speaking of Coachella, I'm kind of Coachella-d out. To be honest with you, I'm a little sick of seeing all the outfits the uber-cool people and/or celebrities are wearing to the oh-so-popular music festival because most of them are waaaay over the top (ahem, Paris Hilton) and they end up looking like assholes. (Paris Hilton.) And isn't it funny, how Coachella is more about the fashion rather than the music (to some people)? Honestly I can only mention a couple of bands that I knew were performing but I do know what Kate Bosworth wore to a couple of concerts! (Top Shop.) Anyways, maybe I'm just jealous and cranky that I'm not there and instead I'm stuck in zero degree weather wearing mittens while I drive to work in the morning? You can decide ; ).

  1. I am so with you on this! I love music, I love music festivals, and I love fashion. But my instagram feed has driven me nuts this past week. One too many duck lipped selfies wearing floral head bands for me to handle!

  2. Loving this look! And yea...Coachella kinda bugs me, it's too popular. I mean it's no Woodstock, haha. But I do enjoy seeing all the hippie outfits people wear that they would never wear in real life :P (except maybe Natalie and Dylana Suarez and some others that have that style all year round)

I could NOT stand seeing all the photos on Instagram.. we get it.. you're at the super cool Coachella! haha.. maybe I'm just jealous. I had the exact debate with my boyfriend, I feel like it's all about fashion now and social status.. MAD dramz.

  4. I totally feel you!! My instagram and blog feed have been bombarded with Coachella outfits and parties and what not. To be honest with you, I don't even know what bands were playing. No blogger seems to mention that!!!
You look great by the way. Even though it's not shorts :) Our time will come where our pasty white skin will see some sunshine!!

  7. I could not agree with you more -- so sick of seeing "Coachella" everything. Seriously, who actually cares? It's just tired at this point. I'm also bracing myself for impending Great Gatsby exhaustion and over-coverage...

  8. Haha. This post made me giggle. It's like people have to put on a uniform to fit in at Coachella, which defeats the purpose of being unique? I dunno... I get cute and scruffy flat boots and denim shorts because they make sense in a dusty, hot music festival but buying a 'Coachella' wardrobe? What the what?

  9. This is a great post, I think the amount of effort people put into dressing for a music festival is ridiculous. I am jealous people got to go because there were soooo many bands I would have loved to have watched.
Love this casual look marie, that jacket is perfect for this weather!

  10. There has really been an overload of Coachella on all forms of social media, hasn't there? I'd still love to go (for the music & experience) but it has become kind of "overhyped", I guess you'd say.

  13. I'm pretty sure that everyone who posted in this saying they're annoyed with Coachella would spend just as much time planning their outfits as they people who were photo blogged throughout the weekend.. with the hopes of being photo blogged.

It's a once in a life time experience. Don't knock it 'til you try it.

  14. Well you certainly look cute!
PS. I'd love to go to Coachella at some point, just to see what all the fuss is about. I definitely would not be the most fashionable, but I think it would be fun!

  15. Haha, this is a funny post title. My entire instagram feed has been polluted by Coachella posts, which knid of makes me want to be there and avoid it at the same time. It's become too mainstream now, I wish it was still a hippy thing.

Either way, you look great!! Lovely casual ensemble!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, btw, do you want to follow each other?
