Fashion Icon Dies In Front Row at NYFW

This is Zelda Kaplan, the 95 year-old fashion icon and social butterfly who, while watching Joanna Mastroianni's fashion show at NYFW yesterday, collapsed and passed away in the front row just as the second model walked passed her on the runway. This picture was taken minutes before she died. The show went on, Ms. Kaplan was removed by security and was later pronounced dead. Although her passing is of course sad, I don't know of a better way to go! She exited this world doing what she loved. R.I.P. Zelda. You were a gem with a mad sense of style!

  5. So sad to hear. :( At least she went out in style, so to speak, but not that it makes it any less sad :(

  9. 95, what a long life. I saw this on the news & how the models never even broke stride as they carried her out. She probably would have loved that.

  10. It's so sad, but at the same time we couldn't ask for a better way for her to pass than in front of what she loves best! Such an amazing personality.
